IT is a vision. Long white walls, brightly-coloured canvasses and an eclectic collection of sculptures.

And now it is double the size.

On Saturday David Hart, son of iconic Australian artist Pro Hart, revealed extensions to his Mooloolaba Esplanade gallery.

The space now stretches twice its original length, displaying stunning artworks from up-and-coming and established artists Australia-wide.

“It was previously used as storage space, which we converted to gallery space,” Mr Hart said. “The best thing about the space is that it keeps on going and going. You stick your head in and you just have to walk in.”

Despite the tough economic times, Mr Hart said his Mooloolaba and Noosa galleries had thrived as people sought alternative investments.

“In the last month we’ve sold David Boyd works with a combined value of $190,000,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of new works from a variety of artists on their way.”
