Our stunning new mango wood range is not only beautiful, but practical and eco-friendly as well.
The subdued natural textures of the mango wood contrast wonderfully with the vivid colours and bold design that line the inside of the bowl. This contrast is absolutely capturing, and looks stunning as a centre piece or functional platter. The shape of our platters was thoroughly considered to make sure that you can see the design, as well as optimally present any foods or snacks to your liking. The platter is rounded like our bowls, so stores well together, but shallow enough that food won’t dip or slide toward the centre.
The smooth enamel coating allows for easy cleaning, so that food scraps can be washed off without the need for heavy scrubbing.
Mango wood is a fantastic sustainable timber alternative to other dense-grain hardwoods like oak and maple. It possesses all of the same hard-wearing properties and beautiful grain pattern, but is significantly easier and quicker to grow. Mango trees can reach the maturity and size needed to cut them down for wood after only 15 years (compared to 50-100 years), and prior to reaching this stage, are used for fruit bearing.
